I don’t like the idea of having Google ads on the website, but I need to find ways to keep the website afloat. My main issue is that Google hardly ever indexes my content, so I need to pay for ads for anyone to find the website. It’s funny the number of unrelated sites that show up in a Google search when you try to report a UFO sightings, and I don’t want to show up on page 10. I feel that I provide a great way for users to document their sightings. It’s all free for the user, but it does take money to function.
I looked up how Enigma Labs got so popular and it comes down to venture capitalists, and a lot of funding. I have neither, just my own close encounter, and a desire to help others know they’re not alone after such life-changing events.
So for now, putting ads on the website is an attempt to reclaim some of the funds spent on advertising the website. I wish I was very wealthy and didn’t need to.
