Anna and I did a bit of hiking today. I got a lot of great pics of the swift in the bottom of this photo, as well as another water bird. I was shooting with the Nikon Z8 and Nikkor 180-600mm. The zoom had the reach but not really the aperture for an overcast day like this. Every time I get a decent photo with digital I always wish I had shot it with film. Just something about it.

A tad grainy and a tad dark. I wouldn’t have gotten this swift with film and manual focus. There are some definite benefits to shooting with the Z8. Image is scaled down for the web. I consider this a test shot, or a “marking the day” kind of photo. Nothing wrong with those, but not really showcasing the ability of this camera/lens combination.
